On May 5th, 2021 ARSN endorsed this Letter denouncing violence in Colombia // Carta denunciando violencia en Colombia to Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister, Marc Garneau from "concerned citizens and participants in the Ethnic Peoples and Peace Global Network." The letter draws attention to "the recent militarization and state violence aimed at stifling public protest" and "the ongoing repression of Indigenous and Afro-descendant leaders and communities in the post-Peace Accords period. It calls on the Canadian government to take strong diplomatic and humanitarian action to "help prevent violence against Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities and leaders."

From June 7th to 13th of 2021, Environmental Defence took out a digital ad in the Hill Times which linked to a joint statement calling on Export Development Canada to "stop fueling the climate crisis."ARSN signed onto the statement, which can be viewed here.

On March 20th, 2021, ARSN co-hosted Countering the Roots of Anti-Black Racism: From Atlantic Canada to Canada's Complicity in the Crisis in Haiti

On February 26th, 2021, ARSN endorsed this letter in solidarity with "all of the communities and individual members of the Peaceful Resistance La Puya who, for nine years, have been resisting mining in defense of life."


On January 21st, 2021 the Atlantic Regional Solidarity Network endorsed a letter that was circulated by the Maritimes-Guatemala Breaking the Silence Network and others about the Saturday, January 16, 2021 attack on Mr. Julio David González Arango, a member of the Peaceful Resistance of Santa Rosa, Jalapa and Jutiapa against the Escobal mine. 

The attack occurred in his home and was followed the next day by text messages of a threatening nature that were sent to Mr. Juan Eduardo Donis and Mr. Pablo Adolfo Valenzuela, also members of the Peaceful Resistance. 

Pan American Silver, which owns the Escobal mine, has been criticized for creating a climate of insecurity for earth defenders, including members of the Peaceful Resistance and the Xinka Parliament of Guatemala.
