On May 5th, 2021 ARSN endorsed this Letter denouncing violence in Colombia // Carta denunciando violencia en Colombia to Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister, Marc Garneau from "concerned citizens and participants in the Ethnic Peoples and Peace Global Network." The letter draws attention to "the recent militarization and state violence aimed at stifling public protest" and "the ongoing repression of Indigenous and Afro-descendant leaders and communities in the post-Peace Accords period. It calls on the Canadian government to take strong diplomatic and humanitarian action to "help prevent violence against Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities and leaders."
